  • ONE DAY CULTURAL EXCHANGE ODYSSEY PROGRAMME TO KHONOMA VILLAGE, NAGALAND

    On February 1st, 2025, the Sociology Department organized a trip to Khonoma Village, Nagaland—Asia’s first Green Village and home to the Angami Naga tribe.

    The purpose of the visit was to explore the village’s remarkable conservation efforts, experience its traditional lifestyle, and gain insights into the history and culture of the Angami tribe.

    During the visit, members observed that the village has a population of about 3,000 and is marked by a distinctive gate featuring symbols of the sun, moon, and “Hek” (wine-pouring jar), used during festivals. The village is famed for its rich heritage, clean environment, and organized cleanliness drives every 2nd and 4th Saturday. The locals practice both terrace farming and jhum cultivation. Historically, Khonoma is known for its fierce resistance to British colonial rule. With guided tours and eco-friendly practices, Khonoma holds strong potential for sustainable tourism.

  • INTERNAL FIELD TRIP TO BUNNING WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

    On February 1, 2025, the Department of Botany organized an internal field trip to Bunning Wildlife Sanctuary, Tamei as part of the 5th Semester paper BOTD509: Plant Pathology.
    The purpose was to conduct a field visit, survey, and collect plant disease samples. Objectives included identifying common plant diseases affecting various plant species, documenting symptoms, and analysing the severity of infections. Students also aimed to determine the primary pathogens and environmental conditions contributing to these diseases.
    Additionally, the trip focused on exploring potential management and disease prevention strategies practiced in conservation. The visit provided valuable practical exposure and research insight.

  • SEMESTER END EXAMINATION – B.Ed 3rd SEMESTER EXAMINATION, 2024 (DECEMBER)

    January 28- February 6, 2025
    The B.Ed 3rd Semester Examination, 2024 (December) at Mount Everest College centre was conducted successfully and smoothly, from January 28 – February 6, 2025 without any issues, strictly following the guidelines and regulations laid down by Manipur University, ensuring fairness, transparency, and adherence to all prescribed norms.

  • SEMESTER END EXAMINATION – B.Ed 1ST SEMESTER EXAMINATION, 2024 (DECEMBER)

    January 22 – February 3, 2025
    The B.Ed 1st Semester Examination, 2024 (December) at Mount Everest College centre was conducted from January 22 to February 3, 2025.
    The examination was conducted successfully and without any disruptions, in full compliance with the rules and regulations of Manipur University, ensuring a smooth, fair and orderly examination process throughout.

  • ONE DAY NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY AND PAPER PUBLICATIONS

    January 30, 2025
    With the aim to build research skills, foster collaboration, and enhance project quality, publication, and funding opportunities, the Research Committee, Department of Political Science, in collaboration with IQAC, Mount Everest College, organised a One Day National Workshop on “Research Methodology & Paper Publications and Research Projects” on January 30, 2025.
    The workshop featured three insightful sessions with three speakers. Dr. Thathang Vaiphei, Assistant Professor, CSSI, Manipur University, spoke on “Minor and Major Research Projects.” Mr. John Gaidingam D, Administrative Officer cum Research Officer, Tribal Affairs and Hills, delivered a talk on “Research on Tribal Areas.”
    Dr. Maningba Augustine L, Assistant Professor, Mount Everest College, presented on “Research Methodology and Paper Publications.”
    The workshop enriched participants with valuable knowledge and practical research insights.

  • 51st CLEANLINESS DRIVE – ANTI-LITTER CLUB

    In 2025, the Anti-Litter Club of Mount Everest College continues its mission of promoting environmental awareness and responsibility. The club successfully conducted its 51st Cleanliness Drive in and around the campus, engaging students and staff in active participation. This ongoing effort reinforces the college’s commitment to maintaining a clean and eco-friendly learning environment.

  • STUDENTS’ PARTICIPATION IN MARCH PAST COMPETITION – 76th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION, 2025

    Students of Mount Everest College actively participated in the March Past Competition held during the 76th Republic Day Celebration, 2025, organised by the District Administration, Senapati. The event was marked by patriotic fervour and enthusiastic participation from various institutions across the district.
    Representing the college with great discipline and coordination, the Boys’ Contingent of Mount Everest College earned Second Position, while the Girls’ Contingent proudly secured Third Position in the competition. Their commendable performance reflected their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.
    The college extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the participating students and the faculty members who guided and trained them. Their success brought pride to the institution and showcased the spirit of unity and discipline among the youth.

  • SELECTION OF MINOR RESEARCH PROJECTS (2025–26)

    The Directorate of University & Higher Education, Government of Manipur, has selected Minor Research Projects for the academic session 2025–26 for Government and Government Aided college teachers across the state.
    From Mount Everest College, three faculty members have been selected. Mr. Donkaolung Malangmei from the Department of English will work on “The Role of Folklore in Preserving Cultural Identity: A Case Study of Rongmei Naga.” Ms. Hatminchong Haokip, also from the Department of English, will undertake research on “Exploring Feminism and Social Critique in Ismat Chughtai’s Short Stories.”
    From the Department of Zoology, Ms. L. Lungshila will conduct a study on “Tylototriton Found in Zaimeng Lake, Manipur, North Eastern India.”
    These projects aim to contribute significantly to their respective fields and local relevance.

  • Mount Everest College Assists in Conducting Forest Guard Examination 2025

    Mount Everest College, serving as one of the designated centres, successfully assisted in the smooth conduct of the Forest Guard Examination organised by the Forest Department, Government of Manipur on January 12, 2025.
    The college extended full support in terms of infrastructure, staff coordination, and invigilation duties to ensure a fair and efficient examination process. All procedures were carried out in adherence to official guidelines. The college management appreciated the dedicated efforts of faculty and non-teaching staff in maintaining order and assisting candidates throughout the day.
