BOTANY DEPARTMENT AND ECO CLUB – FIELD TRIP AND EXTENSION ACTIVITY
The Botany Department and Eco Club organized a field trip and extension activity on April 6, 2024 to Pulie Badze, Kohima, Nagaland. Students explored the venue, and engaged in conservation activities. They collected and disposed of plastics, papers, glass debris and other waste littering around the venue. The hands-on experience deepened their sense of environmental stewardship. The trip emphasized practical learning and fostered a strong connection with nature, making it a valuable educational experience. -

INTER-DEPARTMENTAL QUIZ COMPETITION
The Inter-Departmental Quiz Day was held on April 5, 2024 with enthusiastic participation from all departments. Teams competed in rounds covering various topics, showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking. The event fostered camaraderie, encouraged intellectual exchange, and highlighted the spirit of healthy competition. The Sociology department team emerged as the winner, with the Political Science department team and the History department team as the first and second runners-up respectively. -

To witness the live programme of Virtually laying foundation stone of “Three Semi-Conductor Facilities” of India by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Mount Everest College IQAC conducted a live telecast programme at IQAC Office with 51 students and 11 faculties on 13th March, 2024. This programme is to aware the faculties and students of the college, as a citizen of India to create an end-to-end semiconductor ecosystem to enable the nation to become a significant player in the global semiconductor industry, Aligning with India’s Semi-conductor mission and to strengthen the semi-conductor facilities in India the programme focused on India Semiconductor Mission and India’s Techade and the different opportunities that this will provide be it in AI, Semi Conductor, manufacturing design etc. The programme .

International Women Day
The Mount Everest College Women’s cell and NSS in collaboration with the Senapati Police Women Help Desk and Mount Everest College of Teacher Education celebrated International Women’s day on this year’s theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” with the villagers of Taphou Kuki Village at the later’s Community Hall at 10:30am on 8th March 2024.
Shri. Thangkhokchon Haokip, MPS, Addl. SP (L/O), Senapati spoke at large pertaining women’s rights and protection of women against exploitation in different areas. He encouraged women to know their rights, educate their child, especially girl child as they are vulnerable and have them learn to stand for their rights.
Smt. Shangniring Nungchim, Assistant Professor, Mount Everest Teacher Education emphasized the significance of every day being Women’s Day and women’s pivotal role in society. Nungchim opened her speech with a thought-provoking question, pondering why Women’s Day is celebrated only once a year. She humorously suggested that the ensuing chaos would highlight their indispensable presence if women took a day off from their multifaceted roles.
This year’s celebration theme, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” resonated throughout her address. Nungchim underscored the importance of investing in women’s education, healthcare, and economic empowerment as catalysts for societal and global advancement. Nungchim passionately spoke about empowerment not as a gift but as an awakening of inherent strength. She highlighted the transformative power of education and economic independence for women, advocating for equal opportunities to learn, earn, and lead. The speech also celebrated historical figures like Amelia Earhart and Marie Curie, who defied gender stereotypes. Nungchim called for collective action to support and uplift women, urging the community to mentor young girls, support women entrepreneurs, and recognize women’s contributions daily.

Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye Conducted
Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) in collaboration with Political Science Department of Mount Everest College under the direction of Ministry of Education in collaborationwith ministryof Youth Affairs conducted “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” from 5-6th March, 2024 at Mount Everest College.
A talk on voting right delivered by K R Alen Chiru Asst. Prof., MEC, and pledge taking ceremony were part of this programme with an aim to create an awareness on voting right and its imporance to the students and to stregthen the democratic process of India and to participate in the coming electing by being a responsible voter of India.
