
Mount Everest College gave impressive performances in the 3RD EDITION OF LT COLONEL ROBERT TA MEMORIAL BADMINTON TOURNAMENT – 2024.
In the college category, our boys emerged as Champions in the Doubles event, while the girls’ Doubles team reached the Quarter-final match.
In the open category, Mr. Wungmayo from the Department of Commerce (2nd Semester) claimed the Boys’ Singles Championship, and Miss Charainai Roziina from the Department of English (4th Semester) won the Girls’ Singles title.
Additionally, the due of Mr. Wungmayo and Miss Charainai Roziina triumphed in the Mixed Doubles, showcasing the college’s badminton talent and sportsmanship.

B.ED 2nd SEMESTER END EXAMINATION

The B.Ed 2nd Semester End Examination at Mount Everest College of Teacher Education was conducted successfully adhering to university examination guidelines on September 6, 19 and 20, initially scheduled for 6th, 9th and 11th September, 2024.
While the exam on 6th September proceeded as planned, the exams on 9th and 11th September, 2024 were postponed due to unforeseen circumstances from the University. The rescheduling ensured smooth completion of the assessment. -
HUMAN CHAIN FORMATION AND DUSTBIN INSTALLATION – SWACCHATA HI SEVA 2024 September 23, 2024

As part of the SWACCHATA HI SEVA 2024 initiative, Anti-Litter Club, MEC organised a series of activities to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness. On September 23, 2024, students and staff formed human chains across the surrounding areas of the college, demonstrating unity in their ongoing commitment to a cleaner environment. This symbolic gesture aimed to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining public hygiene.
Additionally, dustbins were installed at various strategic locations around the campus to encourage proper waste disposal. Through these efforts, the college actively promoted responsible waste management, instilling the values of cleanliness and civic responsibility among students and the community. -
AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON UGC REGULATIONS ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT September 20, 2024

On September 20, 2024, Mount Everest College organized an ‘Awareness Program on UGC Regulations in Sexual Harassment’, jointly conducted by the Sexual Harassment Cell, Internal Complaint Cell, Grievance Redressal Cell, and Women’s Cell. The program featured a detailed lecture on UGC’s 2015 Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal guidelines for addressing sexual harassment.The initiative aimed to foster a safer and more informed campus environment. Key outcomes included a deeper understanding of UGC regulations, increased awareness of individual rights and reporting procedures, enhanced sensitivity towards issues of harassment, and empowerment to address and report incidents confidently. The program reinforced the college’s commitment to ensuring safety and equity for all.

43rd CLEANLINESS DRIVE – ANTI- LITTER CLUB Initiative of “Swacchata Hi Seva 2024” September 18, 2024

The Anti-Litter Club, MEC, proudly conducted its 43rd Cleanliness Drive in and around Senapati Bazaar, aligning with the national initiative “Swacchata Hi Seva 2024”. This event highlighted the club’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and community service, rallying students and local residents to take an active role in maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment. The drive targeted specific areas that are vital to the community, including Apfii Saliki (Women’s Market), Astro Football Ground, and the NPO (Naga People’s Organisation) building junction.
The club’s initiatives are crucial not only for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the bazaar but also for promoting a culture of cleanliness and environmental awareness among the youth and the community at large. -
AWARENESS ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT September 16, 2024

On September 16, 2024, the Sexual Harassment Cell of Mount Everest College conducted an awareness session for Bachelor of Teacher Education teacher-trainees of MECTE.
The session aimed to educate the trainees on identifying, preventing, and addressing sexual harassment. It included discussions on legal rights, reporting procedures, and fostering a respectful environment. The initiative empowered trainees with knowledge to create safer educational spaces. -
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

The Internal Assessment for the Second Semester students was conducted from September 16, 2024 to September 21, 2024, followed by assessments for the First and Fourth semester students from September 30, 2024 to October 8, 2024. Students participated actively, and the exams were carried out smoothly, adhering to academic standards and schedules set by the institution.
Students were evaluated through written exams, assignments, quiz, Viva Voce, project works, and attendance, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of their knowledge and skills. These assessments, followed a similar structure, emphasising both theoretical understanding and practical application. -
FIRST COMBINED TEST, 2024

The First Combined Test, 2024 was conducted from September 9, 2024 to September 14, 2024, integrating assessment from multiple subjects or class levels. The test aimed to evaluate students’ overall grasp of the material covered in their courses so far.
The test was successfully conducted with strict adherence to examination guidelines. -
42nd CLEANLINESS DRIVE – ANTI LITTER CLUB September 11, 2024

On September 9, 2024, Anti-Litter Club, MEC, conducted its 42nd Cleanliness Drive reflecting the institution’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship and campus beautification. The drive brought together students, faculty and local residents, all unified by a common goal: to enhance the cleanliness and sustainability of their surroundings. -
CHIEF MINISTER’S EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD September 5, 2024

This prestigious recognition highlights the college’s outstanding standards in educational quality, innovative teaching practices, and contributions to academic development in the State. The award positions Mount Everest College among the top educational institutions, showcasing its dedication to creating a supportive learning environment and advancing educational practices.Additionally, the college received a commendation prize of Rs. 1,00,000 (One Lakh) during the State Level Teachers’ Day Celebration, 2024, further underscoring its achievements and providing resources to enhance its initiatives and support faculty and students.
