AN INTRODUCTORY VISIT TO TAPHOU KRISHI October 19, 2024

An introductory visit to Taphou Krishi village, adopted by the Department of Sociology, Mount Everest College, was scheduled on October 19, 2024.
The visit aimed to familiarise students with the local agricultural practices and community dynamics. Additionally, participants engaged in a tree plantation drive, promoting environmental sustainability and fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature. -
ONE-DAY BOOK FAIR October 18, 2024

On October 18, 2024, the Library Department of Mount Everest College, in collaboration with Balaji Publication (Delhi), organised a One-Day Book Fair.The event showcased a wide selection of books recommended under the NEP syllabus, providing students and educators with access to updated academic resources, fostering a culture of reading and learning.

45th CLEANLINESS DRIVE – ANTI-LITTER CLUB October 16, 2024

The Anti-Litter Club of Mount Everest College conducted its 45th Cleanliness Drive in and around the campus, promoting environmental responsibility and encouraging community participation in maintaining cleanliness. -
INTERNAL FIELD TRIP – BOTANY DEPARTMENT October 2, 2024

On October 2, 2024, the Department of Botany organised a field trip to the Regional Potato Farm, Mao Gate, Senapati, as part of the BSc Botany 1st Semester syllabus on SEC – Biofertilizers.
Students learned about planting, disease management, harvesting, and storage techniques. They also gained insights into sustainable agriculture and efficient crop management. -
SOCIAL WORK – NSS UNIT I & ANTI-LITTER CLUB

On October 2, 2024, Gandhi Jayanti, NSS UNIT I and Anti-Litter Club, MEC organised a social work event, engaging in a community clean-up drive. Volunteers promoted cleanliness, waste segregation, and environmental responsibility, honoring Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and sustainable society. -
B.Ed DEPARTMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATION – FIELD TRIP

October 1, 2024The B.Ed Department of Teacher Education organised a field trip to Kohima, Nagaland, on October 1, 2024, providing 3rd Semester teacher-trainees with an opportunity to explore the city and unwind from their academic routines.
The outing aimed to foster camaraderie among the trainees and faculties allowing them to enjoy the scenic beauty, local culture, and historical sites of Kohima. It was a refreshing break that promoted social interaction, relaxation, and informal learning beyond the classroom environment. -
EMPLOYMENT LINKED, COUNSELLING PROGRAM & SIGNING OF MOU – MOUNT EVEREST COLLEGE AND EMPORIUM SKILLS TRAINING INSTITUTE

On October 1, 2024, Mount Everest College and Emporium Skills Training Institute held an Employment Linked Counselling Program at the college auditorium. The aim aimed to guide students on career opportunities, skill development, and job readiness.
During the programme, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed, solidifying a partnership to provide students with training and employment support. The collaboration promises enhanced career prospects for students through targeted skill-building initiatives. -
LITERARY MEET (Swacchata Hi Seva 2024) September 27, 2024

Mount Everest College hosted its annual Literary Meet on September 27, 2024, jointly organised by the English and Political Science Departments as part of the SWACHHATA HI SEVA 2024 initiative.
The event has a blend of literary activities with the theme of cleanliness and civic responsibility. The programme featured various competitions including Extempore Speech, Solo Singing, Elocution, Stand-up Comedy, and Mimicry, encouraging students to showcase their talents.
Additionally, on the day prior to the Literary Meet, competitions such as Photography, Videography, Collage Making, Painting, and Waste Material Crafting were held emphasizing artistic expression and recycling.
The event successfully promoted environmental awareness and student engagement through diverse creative platforms. -
FIELD TRIP AND SIGNING OF MOU WITH SERICULTURE FARM, KOHIMA

On September 25, 2024, the Department of Zoology organised a One-day Field Trip to two significant locations in Kohima, Nagaland.
The first visit was to the Sericulture Farm in Kohima, undertaken as part of the 1st Semester SEC-Sericulture syllabus. During the visit, students gained hands-on experience in silk production, mulberry cultivation, and silkworm rearing. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to further enhance collaboration and learning opportunities.The second destination was Pulie Badze Wildlife Sanctuary providing an opportunity to study the region’s diverse flora and fauna. This field trip enhanced students’ understanding of sericulture and wildlife conservation through hands-on learning and real-world observations.
