  • MEC MUSIC CLUB SHINES AT STATE-LEVEL RINGUI’S GOT TALENT

    Members of the Music Club of Mount Everest College, Th. Pane and Thaohriilou Seth, proudly participated in the State Level Ringui’s Got Talent held from March 13 to 16, 2025. Representing the college with exceptional musical performances, they showcased their talent and passion for music. Competing against skilled participants from across the state, they earned a spot among the Top 10 finalists, bringing recognition to the institution. Their achievement reflects the dedication of the Music Club and the vibrant talent nurtured at MEC. The college community commended their success with great pride and encouragement.

  • EXCURSION TO CHIDA LAKE- ADVENTURE CLUB, MEC

    The Adventure Club of Mount Everest College organized a thrilling trip to Chida Lake, Khezhakeno, Nagaland on March 15, 2025.
    The excursion was conducted under the supervision of the club teachers in-charge. The students explored the scenic beauty of the lake and participated in various outdoor activities. The visit promoted team spirit, appreciation of nature, and environmental awareness among the participants, making it a memorable and enriching experience.

  • OBSERVATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

    International Women’s Day was observed on March 8, 2025, at Mount Everest College.
    The event was organised by the Women Cell in collaboration with the B.Ed Department and NSS. The theme for the year was “Accelerate Action.”
    The main activity of the programme was a talk on “Celebrating the Evolving Role of Women in Society.” Students and teachers actively participated in the programme. The event encouraged everyone to recognise women’s achievements and to work towards gender equality in all areas of life.

  • EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO KOLKATA BY BOTANY DEPARTMENT

    The 2nd Semester students of the Botany Department undertook an educational trip to Kolkata, from March 4, 2025 to March 8, 2025 as part of their BOTS-206 (P): Botanical Garden and Landscaping (Practical) course.
    Guided by Ms. K. Kateni, HOD, the trip offered valuable exposure to plant diversity and ecological landscaping. Key places visited included the Botanical Survey of India, Central National Herbarium, Alipur Zoological Park, and Eco Park. Students also explored the Birla Planetarium, Victoria Memorial, Mother’s Wax Museum, Mother Teresa’s House, and Indian Museum, enriching their academic experience with cultural and scientific insights. The trip was both educational and memorable.

  • INTERNAL ASSESSMENT TEST 2025

    Mount Everest College conducted the Internal Assessment Test for BA/BSc/BCom 2nd and 3rd Semester students from February 24 to March 3, 2025. The tests were held smoothly as per schedule, with active participation from students.
    The assessment aimed to evaluate academic progress and prepare students for their upcoming university examinations through continuous internal evaluation.

  • OBSERVANCE OF WORLD WILDLIFE DAY 2025


    March 3, 2025

    The Department of Zoology and NSS, in collaboration with IQAC, Mount Everest College, observed World Wildlife Day on March 3, 2025, under the theme “Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet.” The event aimed to engage the local community and raise awareness on the importance of sustainable wildlife conservation practices.

    A rally was organised as part of the observance, with active participation from the faculty and students of the department, along with NSS members. The rally commenced from the college gate and proceeded to Forest Gate via NH2, drawing public attention and encouraging action towards protecting biodiversity.

    This initiative successfully highlighted the urgent need for investing in conservation efforts and inspired the community to play an active role in preserving our planet’s wildlife and ecosystems.
