  • YOUTH RED CROSS WING’S PARTICIPATION IN CIVIL DEFENCE MOCK DRILL ‘OPERATION ABHYASS’

    The Youth Red Cross Wing of Mount Everest College (MEC) actively participated in the Civil Defence Mock Drill ‘OPERATION ABHYASS’, organized by the District Administration, Senapati on May 16, 2025 at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati.

    The mock drill was aimed at enhancing preparedness and coordination among various departments and volunteers in the event of natural or man-made disasters.
    Members of the Youth Red Cross Wing took part in emergency response simulations, first aid demonstrations, and evacuation procedures, showcasing discipline, efficiency, and a strong sense of civic responsibility. Their participation highlighted the college’s ongoing commitment to community service, disaster awareness, and youth engagement in public safety initiatives.

  • GK MISSION 5

    The college proudly launched GK Mission 5 on May 15, 2025, marking the fifth phase of the institution’s ongoing initiative to promote general awareness among students across various academic domains.

    This edition featured thought-provoking questions drawn from diverse fields such as sciences, English, political science, sociology, sports, space exploration etc.

    This initiative, created with contributions from the college’s faculty, aims to broaden students’ general knowledge and academic perspectives across multiple disciplines.
    The success of GK Mission 5 reinforces the college’s dedication to holistic learning and interdisciplinary awareness.

  • FIRST COMBINED TEST – BA/BSC/BCOM 4TH SEMESTERS

    The First Combined Test for BA, BSc, and BCom 4th Semester students was successfully conducted from May 5 to May 10, 2025. The examinations were carried out smoothly as per the scheduled dates, with enthusiastic participation from the students.

  • BA/BSC/BCOM 6TH SEMESTER – INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

    Mount Everest College conducted the Internal Assessment Test for BA, BSc, and BCom 6th Semester students from May 5 to May 9, 2025. The tests were carried out smoothly according to the scheduled plan, with active and sincere participation from the students.

    The primary objective of the assessment was to gauge students’ academic progress and readiness for the forthcoming university examinations, reinforcing the process of continuous internal evaluation.

  • Sensitization Workshop on Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)

    A sensitization workshop on the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) was held at Manipur University, organized by the College Development Council in collaboration with the Association of Manipur Teachers Education Institutes (AMTEI). The event aimed to raise awareness and foster dialogue around the implementation of ITEP under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

    The workshop was graced by prominent educationists including:

      • Prof. Premlata Maisnam, Dean, School of Education, MU
      • Prof. Dibyajyoti Mahanta, Chairperson, Eastern Regional Committee, NCTE

    Workshop Themes

    • Discussions on aligning institutional practices with NEP goals and enhancing quality assurance mechanisms

    This workshop marked a significant step toward collaborative reform in teacher education across Manipur.

  • SECOND OUTREACH PROGRAMME ON COLLEGE ADMISSION

    The second outreach programme on college admission was successfully conducted on May 3, 2025, covering approximately 17 locations including Khongnem Thana, Lairouching Bazaar, Maram Centre, Maram Naojai, Lower Koide, Upper Koide, Purul Atongba, Purul Akutpa, Shirong, Lakhamai Village Gate and Ground, Phaibung Khullen, Vaisiichui, Paomata Centre, Tunggam Afii, Lower Shajaoba, and Tadubi Bazaar. The programme aimed to spread awareness about admission procedures, available courses, scholarships, and facilities offered by the college.

    The team actively engaged with the local communities through direct interaction and clarification of doubts regarding higher education opportunities. The programme proved to be a productive step toward building stronger educational links with remote regions.

  • GREEN STEPS: MOUNT EVEREST COLLEGE UNITES LEARNING AND ENVIRONMENT AT KAPAMODZII PEAK

    Blending academics with action, the Department of Botany and the Eco Club of Mount Everest College, Senapati, organised an educational field trip to Kapamodzü Peak in Phek district, Nagaland, on May 3, 2025, followed by a meaningful cleaning drive at the serene KYU Range.

    Led by Miss K. Kateni, Head of the Botany Department, and Mrs. Esther Jatak, teacher-in-charge of the Eco Club, the group of 18 enthusiastic students turned their journey into a platform for learning and environmental care. While observing the unique vegetation of Kapamodzü, they also cleaned the beautiful KYU Range — a peaceful, meadow-like area of cultural significance.

    This initiative highlighted how education rooted in real-world experiences can inspire responsibility and sustainable action.

  • REPORT ON ONE DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON ‘BAN OF SINGLE-USE PLASTICS’

    On May 2, 2025, a One Day Awareness Programme on the theme ‘Ban of Single-Use Plastics’ was organised by IQAC, NSS Unit I, Eco Club, Anti-Litter Club, and the Departments of Botany and Zoology, MEC. The programme aimed to educate students and staff about the harmful effects of single-use plastics.

    A technical session was conducted by Mr. Kaluba Paul, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, highlighting environmental concerns and sustainable alternatives. A pledge against single-use plastics was led by Ms. M. Leshine, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology. The event also included the release and dissemination of an awareness poster to promote responsible practices. The programme concluded with active participation and a renewed commitment towards a plastic-free environment.

  • OUTREACH PROGRAMME TO IRANG VALLEY FOR COLLEGE ADMISSION AND AWARENESS

    On May 1, 2025, a college outreach programme was conducted in Irang Valley, covering villages like Thonglang, Irang Nepali, Chalwa, Gelnal, Tapon, Makui, Langka, Thenjang, Chawang Kining, Toribari, and Waichong. The team travelled 12 hours non-stop on rough roads to spread awareness about college admissions, scholarships, and available courses.

    Despite the tough journey, the programme was well-received by the villagers. The local community showed interest and appreciated the information shared. The visit helped build trust and encouraged more awareness about higher education opportunities in these remote areas.

  • A DAY IN THE VALLEY: DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH OUTING TO JAMNING VALLLEY

    On May 1, 2025, the Department of English, Mount Everest College, embarked on a refreshing outing to the scenic Jamning Valley, surrounded by rolling hills and tranquil greenery. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and spirited activities. The highlight was a hearty, shared meal enjoyed under open skies, strengthening bonds and creating cherished memories.
    The outing offered not only a break from academics but also a chance to rejuvenate minds and celebrate camaraderie amid nature’s serene embrace.
